Asian Dramas the (my) Complete List!

WARNING!!!
I usually post AFTER MIDNIGHT! That means that I finished a drama late at night or even at 4-6 am in the morning... Most of the times I make mistakes, usually in Grammar that I wouldn't do otherwise (that goes for yahoo answers as well)

Please bear in mind that what I do here is for my pleasure only as I want to keep track of what I've watched and why I'd like someday to watch again. If I helped you to pick a drama you enjoyed eventually, then that just adds up in this page's usefulness.

-Kloklo

I decided that I had to edit my previous posts (The dramas origins are now correct) and put them all in one post... If I want to add more I will just edit this one and I will update the day that the ex 56th drama was added on DD/MM/YYYY.

Movies will be added soon... {M} <-- This will tell you that what you are about to read isn't about a drama but an asian movie.
I've watched many asian movies since I was a kid but here I'll stick mostly in the romantic ones... I believe that the audiance who checks this page doesn't want any movies about the cultural revolution or something like the 7 samurai etc. Though if you search those genres then you must know that the classic and the cult asian cinema has many gems. (If only I weren't a ten year old watching all that at the time... {Thanks Mother!})

(J) Japanese drama
(K) Korean drama
(T) Taiwanese drama
(Th) Thai drama
(HK) Hong Kong drama

The Rating is followed by 4 colours as well

Anime:

1) Itazura na Kiss: Japanese anime adaptation of the manga. Great story line you will never get bored with this one. The plot is amazing and its best served (chuckles) with a hot cup of tea.

Summary: In the romantic comedy story, a high school girl named Kotoko finally tells a fellow senior named Naoki that she has loved him from afar since she saw him on their first day of high school. However, Naoki, a hottie "super-ikemen" (handsome male) who is smart and good at sports, rejects her offhand. Fate intervenes when a mild earthquake ruins Kotoko's family house. While the house gets rebuilt, Kotoko and her dad stay at the home of her dad's childhood friend...whose son is Naoki.  (wiki)

2) Vampire Knight: Another manga adaptation.... love story meets vampires, horror and a bit of blood... Not your usual romantic comedy  (to be honest not a RC at all) but its addictive...

Summary: Yuki Cross's earliest memory is of being attacked by a vampire and saved by Kaname Kuran, also a vampire. Ten years later, Yuki and the vampire hunter, Zero Kiryu are at Cross Academy as school guardians protecting the "Day Class" human students from the "Night Class" vampire students. The story follows Yuki's discovery that her childhood friend, Zero has spent the last four years trying to fight his transformation into a vampire and he has finally succumbed. Yuki struggles to help Zero fight his bloodlust and to recover her own lost memories, while suspecting that Kaname knows more than he is saying.
When his uncle, Rido Kuran returns to kill Yuki, Kaname is forced to reveal her secret by biting Yuki and awakening her true nature as a pureblood vampire and returning her memories of being Yuki Kuran, his supposed younger sister. Rido is killed by Zero and Yuki while Kaname faces and destroys the Rido's allies, the Vampire Council, revealing himself to be one of the original vampires and the founder of the Kuran clan. Yuki and Zero part as enemies after Zero reveals he intends to end everything, by killing all purebloods even her. Yuki leaves with Kaname and they return to the Kuran family home and the story restarts a year later with Yuki dealing with vampire society and new enemies, such as Sara Shirabuki. (wiki)

3) Spacial A: A High School Life anime.. quite enjoyable... good ending but simply for a day you want to have a laugh or two...

Summary: Hikari Hanazono has always been second to Kei Takishima. When they were six years old, their pro-wrestling loving fathers introduced them to each other. Assuming that she was the best in wrestling, young Hikari challenged Kei to a wrestling match only to be thoroughly defeated by him. Ever since that fateful incident, Hikari swore to beat Kei in school grades, sporting events or any competition. To do this, she has enrolled in the same school as Kei since elementary. Now she attends Hakusenkan, an ultra elite school, that costs her carpenter father a lot of money. Hikari and Kei are the top two students in the school, with Kei holding firmly to that number one position. While Hikari considers Kei to be a rival and important friend, she is completely unaware that Kei is in love with her. The story primarily focuses on Hikari and her constant attempts to defeat her one and only rival, Kei, and how she find love in their rivalry.

4) Ouran High School Host Club: I laughed really hard with this one! It could just be called "we know noooo limits!" and it's true the characters are just out of this world. The most common word there is DEBT.

Summary: Haruhi Fujioka is a scholar student at the prestigious Ouran Academy, a fictional high school located in Bunkyō, Tokyo. Looking for a quiet place to study, Haruhi stumbles upon the Third Music Room, a place where the Ouran Academy Host Club, a group of six male students, gathers to entertain female "clients". During their first meeting, Haruhi accidentally knocks over and breaks an antique vase valued at¥8,000,000 (US$80,000 in English manga)[1] and is told to repay the cost in service to the club. Haruhi's short hair, slouching attire and gender-ambiguous look cause her to be mistaken by the hosts for a male student. The hosts all agree that Haruhi would be a good host, thus making her join the host club. Ultimately she agrees to join the Club as a host herself (dressed as a male) in order to pay off her debt.[2] She agrees to join since she does not mind hosting as long as she can pay the debt off faster. The hosts do later find out that she is, in fact, a girl. They keep this a secret, so no one will be able to tell. The Ouran Private Academy encompasses kindergarten to twelfth grade (along with a university as well). Most students come from wealthy families, but in special cases, merit scholarships are granted to exceptional students from a lower income bracket. The school's unofficial motto is "Lineage counts first, wealth a close second," meaning students with stellar family backgrounds but low socioeconomic status may be given top priority over those from rich families with lesser pedigrees. Live Action Dramas:

1) Hana Yori Dango (J): Or Boys over Flowers  is the most amazing romantic comedy drama I've ever watched and has received a good reception from my friends as well although they are not into asian dramas... like.... at all! (not to mention romantic comedies.). What I liked the most? Matsumoto Jun acting was simply wow. The body language and the eyes were giving everything so clearly tha I don;t think I can watch another drama with him in it... He will always be the Almighty. P.S.: I loved the OST

2) Coffe Prince (K):This one is so funny! Girl meets Boy.. Boy thinks he just met new MALE buddy and eventually a new employee, Girl needs money so she just goes with it. Yet love is just around the corner... waiting with a cup of coffee... and many mixed signals. Worth watching it.

3) King of Baking (K): Not much of a Romance here (well there is but thats not what matters here) but one of the most enjoyable dramas I've watched so far... If you liked Master Chef you will be hooked.

4) Fated to Love You (T): Sweet, funny and keeps you at the edge for over 24 episodes... that's something!
Be prepared for tears and many many sad smiles if you choose this one. I don't regret watching it as it was really down to earth and the combination between the baby obsseed grandma and the unballanced feelings of the leading actor was something more to make it worth it. It could happen to anyone a pregnancy, a shot gun marrige, a confused pretened to be couple and the many many mistakes along the way... Spoiler - Warning: In episode 12 there is a miscarriage that doesn't mean that the series loses its way the exact opposite. The baby is still looming over them and the loss is expressed by loving it even more.

5) My name is Sam Soon Kim (K): Some things are not meant to be but if you dont leap you will probably crumble. Bitter-sweet and funny. There is not much to say but give it a try.

Summary: Kim Sam Soon (Kim Sun Ah) is a baker who has a talent in making pastries and cakes. On Christmas Eve, she caught her boyfriend, Min Hyun Woo (Lee Kyu Han), cheating on her and breaks up on the same night. 6) Prince turns to Frog (T): Amnesia was never such a life altering experiance. Hold on for these sweet moments.. btw the ending/theme song is a really good piece. Pure Love by 183Club (part of te band is our favorite Frog aka the male leading (and second leading) actor) Not to be disrepectful but Asia has a serious backstreet model obsession syndrome....

And who is the person causing all the "accidents"?

7) Devil Beside You (T): Or better yet (manga's title) The Devil Does Exist. I like the manga better as it has a better plot and an outstanding ending but better than nothing right? Well here the most funny parts are the childish parents than the leading roles of their children. Sometimes gentle is not always on the surface for everyone to see... sometimes darkness shows a false mask... Pity.

Summary: After finally getting the courage to confess her feelings, Qi Yue (Rainie Yang) was handing her love letter to Yuan Yi (Kingone Wang), but by a stroke of bad luck, he did not see and walked passed her. The person standing in front of her was the troublemaker of the school, infamously known for his devilish ways – Jiang Meng (Mike He). The devil will get what he wants, and the object of his desire was Qi Yue. Although having a cruel exterior, Ah Meng’s heart is kind and caring, which truly touched Qi Yue. 7) Why Why Love (T): Similar to the Devil Beside you.. The bad guy is not the bad guy yada yada yada... BUT you might find something you will really like in this one so don't pass it so easily. For my it's a complete drama. Trivia: It has the same cast with Devil Beside You so at first it was mistaken as its sequel.

So her best friend Jiang Xiao Nan (Michelle) sneaks in a “Love” coupon in Jia Di’s raffle box praying that the lucky guy who draws it will sweep Jia Di off her feet. As it so happens, Huo Yan (Kingone), the compassionate manager Jia Di has secret crush on, is the lucky guy. But, though the prince can exchange the coupon for Cinderella’s love, it doesn’t mean he will, especially when his devilish younger brother, Huo Da (Mike) is determined to exchange his “Master/Angel” coupon for her servitude.(asiahomecd)

8) Boys Over Flowers (K): I admit I forgot it... its the (K) version of Hana Yori Dango. It has been made close to the Japanese standars but you can't respect the leading actress... Yet if you loved HYD you will like this one as well. A word of advise don't bother woth the Meteor Garden (T) yet wait for PRC's Meteor Shower unofficial magna adaptation.

Summary: More or less the same with Hana Yori Dango but it has a few very different turns every once and a while.

Set at a famous high school for the super-wealthy, this is a puppy love story centered on a poor girl and the F4 gang of rich kids headed by the rough and fearless Jun-pyo Koo.

11) Hana Kimi (T&J): Not crazy about either of the two versions. The (T) reminded me a lot of the She's all That! but it was supposed to go for a second season so it felt incomplete. Better go for the (J) version. Hanazakari no Kimitachi e

20) Only You (K): If you liked Autumn's Concerto you better watch this one. The storyline is similar to the second half of AC. Key Words: Lies and One Night Stands always lead to a child running wild... What is lacking? Well the cooking but what I loved here was the approach of the building relationship between an absent parent and his child. There wasn't a single magic wand waving on that matter and showed that for a child reality bites really hard.

22) Miss No Good (T): Weird Drama with a weird happy ending. If you like comedy its a must watch. The only things that bothered me was the high pitched voice of the leading actress in evey single scene!!! ARGH! And the ending a bit.... Although... SPOILER: In the end we see Tang Men having a nightmare and basicly rejecting his -now- wife as she is the most unfashionable woman in the whole world yet... we see them later on riding her bike wearing only their  PJs (much to his dismay) and matching glittering helmets. 27) Down With Love (T): It kept my interest for a while but afterwards was simply a typical KDrama... if you watch this one you have nothing to lose. P.S. It was a pitty that the children had to leave so early in the drama as they kept it up.

28) Hello my Teacher (K): The story wasn't appealing at first but I decided to give it a go as the protagonist was already familiar from the 1st Coffee Shop Prince and I knew that at least there would be some good acting. I was pleasently surprised to see him paired with the leading actress from Pasta. This one is a nice romantic comedy for a Friday night.

30) Mei-chan no Shitsuji (J): Here is the surprise of the week! I had ruled it out as my type of drama and oh dear how wrong I was! It's not surprising that its popularity rivals sometimes Hana Yori Dango in Japan so for me is a must watch. It's HILARIOUS! and the romance is not lacking either although its way to subtle

31) Ohitorosima (J): This one was funny but the ending wasn't much for my taste yet is a happy one so go ahead and have fun. What I really loved here was that the leading actor was between cocky and dorky at the same time and not the usual weak younger male at this kind of plot.

Summary: 33-year-old Akiyama Satomi is a history teacher at the prestigious all-girls high school she once attended. She has earned the nickname "ohitorisama" (meaning "one person") for her perfectionism and capability to handle any work by herself. At the same time, the name also refers to her lack of romance. One day, a young man named Shinichi arrives at the school as a temporary instructor. He's ten years younger than Satomi, has only worked part-time jobs, and has neither money nor status. Although the other female teachers and students find him cute, he is completely not Satomi's type... or is he? Will love blossom between this unlikely pair?

32) Pasta (K): If you like Food Dramas you will LOVE this one. What will stay with me here was their last kiss... simply amazing to watch over and over... (his reaction actually)

33) Secret Garden (K): Next to Hana Yori Dango would have been a great rival in my heart if not for the one season only and the down to earth (aka realistic) feeling in the end. It was one of the dramas I would like to watch again in the future AND I hope to find new ones to leave me with that fuzzy feeling... Also I loved the OST here and one f the lyrics was simply fundumental for the whole series... "What makes you appear before my eyes? What always make you keep appearing? If I lie down and close my eyes why does your face keep appearing in my mind? ..... you are not a passing feeling that much is clear - it's love, it must be love...."

P.S> I never thought that Push Ups could not only move me emotionaly so much but seriously thinking of that scene as one of the best in the whole series as it was oozing love, curiosity and affection.

Summary: The drama tells the story of Kim Joo Won (Hyun Bin), an arrogant and eccentric CEO who maintains the image of seeming perfection, and Gil Ra Im (Ha Ji Won), a poor and humble stuntwoman whose beauty and body are the object of envy amongst top actresses. 36) The Rose (T): This one is a bit weird... it has everything.... although it's a  bit "old" (2003) I spent my time with so many twists and turns that it was actually good -but I wont lie- and a draggy... Imagine a chubby girl falling for her "brother" (not really..) who has blue eyes (His father was American) and only shows his caring and sweet side to her (and occupies her half bed) while drunk. Everyone in that house have their demons and believe me with so many dramas I thought they were leaving in a haunted house... Good ending thought... worth watching. That Fool

Summary: Bai He is an extremely ordinary young girl in the story. Even though she has a kind-hearted and generous heart, but being short and chubby, she is always being refused by people because she is not attractive enough. Her appearance has always been the origin of Bai He's inferior feelings. Because that is a fact that no matter how much strength she uses, she is unable to change. This inferior feeling deeply influences Bai He's life, her interpersonal relations, and even her own emotions. There are lots of beautiful girls that always appears by Bai He's side. The radiance that they give off is like that of a peacock spreading its feathers, conceited and arrogantly striding ahead with their chins up. And Bai He is always used to retreating to the back. In her mind, "I am always ugly." has long ago became an established law that doesn't change. When other people harms her, makes her doubt this established law of hers, she would turn around and make excuses for that person, comforting her own wavering, uneasy heart.

Bai He is exactly this girl that is gentle and soft, yet has inferior feelings of herself. Even though her beautiful heart far surpasses outward appearances by a thousand hundred times, but in a society that has all along judged people by their appearances, she is just like many of the other girls who also has ordinary appearances - deeply feels miserable over their lack in their looks and forgets about the other characteristics and merits that they have. That is, until she finds the confidence and courage to love herself from all those people that loves her. She eventually reveals the brilliant glitter of her gem and helps the people that she loves in her family to untie the knot of many years of disputes, to accept each other once again.

The Rose preserves the established roles of the original story and the story's infrastructure, also strengthens the personality of the roles, making them stand out, detailing the turning points of the character's mood within the show, hoping that within the entertainment, it can give the audience even more moving feelings. Furthermore, guiding the audience through an even deeper layer of thinking on love, family and friendship.

41) I Really Really Like You (K): The love triangle here failed a little for me. 46) Smile You (K): I was postponing this one for weeks... Well who can blame me? 45 episodes and a Family Romantic Drama wasn't my first choice boy I was wrong. It was unbelieveble how you never get bored with this one. I read in the web that during the airing of the drama the audience thought that the leading protagonists were really dating... although I knew that it was nothing than their great acting I had the same wishful though long before the ending as well. Don't waver just because the episodes are over the top as you are used to 16-20 episodes for a Kdrama... Believe me is one of the best out there and I'm planning to rewatch the whole thing once I'm free (hmm Easter is right around the corner)

47) Long Vacation (J): This one is OLD like 90's old (1996) but a really good Jdrama (you would think that it was a Kdrama) also the start of a famous actor nowdays in Japan. It's an older lady younger man story personaly I've watched many of this kind (they are so funny) and I have to say that the age wasn't really the problem there but the situations etc. A quite good drama with nice piano pieces.

Summary: Minami and Sena meet when Sena's apartment-mate, Asakura, jilts Minami on their wedding day. Minami learns from Sena that Asakura has left, whereabouts unknown. Sena allows Minami to move into the apartment, since she is penniless, having given all her money to Asakuraand cannot pay the rent on her apartment.

This is the beginning of a romance between Sena and Minami, although they are far apart in age and interests. Minami and Sena confide in and console each other about their relationship problems and their lack of success in life.
Minami meets a professional photographer, Sugisaki, who proposes marriage. Finally Sena has a chance of winning a piano competition and going to Boston, joining the symphony orchestra.
The characters in the series have something in common--if not jobless, they can do no better than secure a temporary job. This is a portrayal of a time when Japan was plagued by deep recession, when its people suffered profound depression from constant failure to earn a stable income. The series portrays how relationships are made and broken, and explores how people come to depend on each other for solace.

51) The Apple of my Eyes/Kaew Tah Pee (Th): I really enjoyed this one. It was a good balanced comedy romance drama. The best part is set in Paris after a couple of episodes. Again its a hard to find drama but believe me its worth it!

Summary: The drama started with the lead actress Nathlada in a bridge ready to jump to take away her life. At that time, Chisanu, the lead actor was walking on the bridge. The first part scene is a cliche. Because it seems like it was copied from a comedy act. haha. Chisanu being blind, stumbled upon Nathlada’s bag on the ground, causing him to fall and he accidentally bump Nathlada off the bridge. Good thing the later was able to hold on to something. Chisanu was able to save Nathalada from falling.
Since Chisanu save her, Nathlada help him on his way home since he loss his walking stick. Chisanu is wearing some worn out shirt and pants at that time so Nathlada felt some pity for him. Added to that was the fact that when she asked Chisanu where he lives he mistakenly pointed a run down house (that’s because he is blind). Because of the state Nathlada believe he is in, she kept on going back to his house to help him (she believes she is a farmer so he let her believe it that way).
Until one day, Chisanu received a message that he now have a cornea donor and have to play to France. He took advantage of the situation and also of Nathlada and ask her to marry him. She agree because of his condition. Later did she realized that he was not a farmer but rather he is multi millionaire.
To add spice to the story, the ex-girlfriend of Chisanu who left him and the ex boyfriend of Nathlada who tricked her kept on pestering them from Thailand to France.

52) Love Revolution (J): At first I read it was an adult (not an 18+) romantic comedy so with nothing else to watch once again I dived into the unknown. It seems that whenever I do that the result is quite breathtaking. In my opinion is a RC that worths your weekends nights!

Summary: A romantic comedy about women in their 30's. For everyone who still remembers "Suteki na Kataomoi," "Tokyo Love Story," "101st Proposal," prepare yourselves for even more of those same touching moments again.

Breaking the tradition of the main character for a Monday night drama being a woman in her 20's, Esumi Makiko stars as Kyoko Asaoka, a 32-year-old heart surgeon working at a hospital in Tokyo. Men tend to shy away from the tall, well-educated and well-paid Kyoko because they see her as a woman that can do things on her own. The truth of the matter is that Kyoko is just unlucky in love. She is also old-fashioned, and wants to fall in love just like anyone else, but has a hard time showing her real self to men.

53) Queen's (T): That's one of the most unpredictable dramas I've ever watched! Also it's one of the extremely rare cases where in only 13 episodes you actually see the cast mature and justify that things yes MUST go to that direction no matter what happened in the last episode or even in the last scene. It was well acted and I have to admit that it remind me a Kdrama. It was what we call in Greece άρτιο aka a whole if I can translate it that way. For me it had an excellent plot and I swear I'd like to meet the manga artist of the manga on which this drama was based as it was brilliant. The conclusion? Relationships change but love its like make up... Even if it is the most expensive antiallergic one you will not know of it “fits” you until you try it and even then you might spend a whole evening itching and suffering just because you decided that it fit you indeed... what a fool you made yourself.

Summary: Tie Xiong has been in love with his best friend Cai Ke Er since the first day he set eyes on her. Cai Ke Er is a girl with an obsession with Anime and Manga and also dreams of designing costumes for Cosplay. In hopes of winning Ke Er's heart, Tie Xiong becomes what he thinks it Ke Er's ideal man... cute, friendly, good at cooking and sewing, not to mention... Ke Er's cross-dressing cosplay model code-named "Saber"!
But who would have known that what Ke Er really wanted wasn't a cute and cuddly at all... but an athletic, sweaty, ill-tempered basketball player, Jin Yong Jun. Tie Xiong, being somewhat devastated, sets out to become all and more of what Ke Er wants... and finds some added help when he picks up a comic book titled: "The Real Man"

54) Oishii Proposal (J): This one was promising but ended up to be a bit of a disappointment... I don't say don't watch it but be prepared for a clueless something. It had a few good points but the katharsis never came. Oh well its a typical drama but I would recommend it, only if have nothing else to watch.

Summary: Imagine that you're at the so-called "marrigeable age" of your life as a single woman...what would your ideal conditions for a husband be? Back in the day, people used to say the "3 Hs"--high salary, high educational background, and tall height; nowadays it's more like the "3 Ls"--ladies first modest attitude, low risk, and a low dependency rate. But that's another story. The real problem is that before your very eyes, a young, well-paid "super hot celebrity guy" appears...and proposes to you...what do you do?
Hasegawa Kyoko plays Shiraishi Suzuko, a beautiful and strong-minded female chef. Koide Keisuke plays the naive young celebrity businessman, Katsuragi Haruki. These two characters await you in this comic drama full of all sorts of mishaps.

55) To Grow With Love (HK): I didn't know what to except from this one. To be truthful I'm a “big” girl so a few years ago I had enjoyed the greek tv series “You're my Match” and the Latin American soap opera “Mi Gorda Bella”. No I'm not ashamed for my weight and frankly I love those series (ex 200 pounds of Beauty).
Anyway this was my first KH drama and I was surprised! The language bothered me only for the first 10 min or so but then the plot was so hilarious that you had to keep watching. Of course at some point aka 3-4 episdes before the Finale the script writers must have met a writers block I can't explain it otherwise. All in all it was a HIGHLY enjoyable drama that I'll watch again.

What intrude me most was the relationship of the main characters towards the end. It was a weird old married couple friendship that I could only relate between my best friend and me... In any case the characters were comfortable and if you have watched Tdramas be prepared for a weird Korean/Taiwanese hybrid kind of drama. Ending note: It was a pain to find it but don;t give it up there is a hard-subbed version out there. *wink*

Summary: Fat Tin (Myolie Wu) is an overweight daughter to a wealthy man in the Philippines. Worried for her daughter's future that she won't get married because she's overweight, Fat Tin's father searches for and finds what he believes to be an ideal life partner for her daughter. However, unable to feel anything for her husband-to-be Mak Ka Fai (Kenneth Ma), the idealistic Fat Tin runs off to Hong Kong. Life in Hong Kong is totally different from the life she left. People are more materialistic, and appearances are everything. Fat Tin's weight makes her the object of ridicule from Tai Hei especially, the owner of the store she will eventually work at during her time in Hong Kong.
Tai Hei (Andy Hui) is a successful designer and the owner of several chain stores selling his own design brand. A perfectionist, he feels that appearances are everything and anyone unable to take care of their own appearance cannot be trusted to take care of anything important.
Quarrels and misunderstandings are the norm between the two polar opposites. However, a strange turn of events brings the two closer together in the Philippines...

56) Prince's First Love (K): It was a disappointment. I was expecting much much more here but anyway... Wishful thinking... The chemistry between all the actors were in woo woo land or something? Typical drama without twists or anything... I would say if you don't want to give it a chance you are not going to miss much.

Summary: Gun-Hee (Cha Tae-Hyun), the Prince of a Hotel chain, lives an irresponsible jet setting existance. That is cut short when he meets Yu-Bin (Sung Yu-Ri). She ends up getting him in trouble with his family and he is forced to work in the hotel chain as a guide. Yu-Bin also gets a job at the same company and Gun-Hee proceeds to try to make her life miserable. Eventually revenge turns to love, but Yu-bin only has eyes for hard-working Sung-Hyun (Kim Nam-Jin) Gun-Hee's chief rival in the company as well as in love.

57) Lie to Me (K): At first it seems a bit like Secret Garden as you have a cold unemotional man controling a Hotel chain but it ends there. In my opinion they made obvious mistakes like why there is a flashlight spot swirling around where the protagonist is supposed to be? The proggression of characters is a bit quick and it's lacking depth wain it comes to the oh so exciting drama triangle.
Now the Good Points! It was pretty funny most of the time, they had 3 amazing kissing scenes and the scenery was even more amazing. At first I was a bit sceptical about the male protagonist because he was a bit stiff then a bit gay and then at some point he found he's way. All in all it's not your by the book asian drama and it has many morals like a lie brings another lie and then say bye bye President Chen. Bottom line if love change a man that much I'd be  hesitant to ever fall in love but at least I'l know what to do with my mean friends... Anyway watch it the romance junkies will get a good (and far more decent than any other's I've seen) drama dose with this.

PS: The female leading actor is well known for her work at Goong, Coffee Prince, Personal Preference, Vineyard Man and Take care of the Young Lady.

Summary:
Gong Ah Jung, a level 5 Ministry of Culture official, gets entangled in a web of lies when she mistakenly lies that she's married to Hyun Ki Joon, a hotel manager from an affluent family. Their relationship is further complicated when Ki Joon's ex-fiancée and a close friend of his brother's, Oh Yoon Joo, reappears in his life.

58) The Greatest Love (K): It seems that whenever I'm hesitant about a drama it turns out much better than what I had expected. This drama was one of the best K dramas I've watched and I think now 3d in my Kdramas favourite list. I laughed and I laughed and until the end it was fresh and exciting while it deals with a subject that has been on my mind for quite some time... what happens to Idols that simply fall out of favour or time? Sometimes things will be kept a secret and never revealed but it will show that sometimes love is not an at first sight thing or that most of the time you linger and a triangle is not just a drama invention. If I had to replace it with one word it would have been Genial! Also don't miss the track suit "joke"... (aka the Secret Garden's Track Suit Freak)

PS: You gotta love the soundtrack in this one. Personal Favourites, Take my Hand & Because You're my Man

NOTE* I read some of my new entries here and I found so many mistakes... I'm sorry but I usually write them at 5 or 6AM so I'm a bit dizzy as I have just finished watching at least 8 episodes in the row...

59) Love You/While We Were Drunk/Drunken To Love You (T): I knew that I wanted to watch this one as soon as I wastched the teaser and it wasn't even subbed. What I didn't know was that it's the next project of the creator of the Fated to Love You! The story is a bit similar but without the baby but all similarities end by the second episode. The leading actor (who is married since this March) is well... hot and reminds me a bit the actor from The Rose but his acting is far better and knows what it means comedy. The actress is the well known Rainie (surprisingly not as annoying as I was expected) and the chemisrty is really well acted (loved the resort kissing scene). After watching and the last episode... well I had to "upgrade" this drama to a must watch! The last episode changed much although I never expected that to happen! Hilarious and witty till the last second. Quote: "You mean I paid 60.000 for that!?!?!?!?!?"

Summary: Two strangers, both proposed marriage to their respective girl/boyfriend, were rejected on the same day. They decided that the best way to deal with the rejection was to get drunk, real drunk. During the 24 hours of their crazy drunkenness, these two stranger became fast friends and got married... to each other. When they finally sobered up, they embarked on a mission to undo every crazy thing they did while they were drunk and prayed that their girl/boyfriend wouldn't find out. However, it turns out that Jie Xiu's girlfriend, Ai Wei, doesn't want a scandal affecting her movie so she asks him to stay married to Xiao Ru for three months.

60) Baby Face Beauty (K): The first drama my mother graciously watched with me. According to her the actors did an amazing job and it had many funny scenes as well as "killer" clothes to discuss during the 17 from the 20 episodes (My Grandmother was a well known desingner in the 50's so it was only natural for my mother to notice the clothes more than the story). Anyway, my mother loved it! Me? Not so much... The leading actress was always a sore face to see and to be honest too much drama for nothing... If it wasn't for the desinging competitions and the leading actor then it would have been just your typical Friday drama.

Summary: The story of Lee So Young, a 34-year-old woman who's saddled with family debt and only has a high school qualifications, but dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Her youthful appearance is her only advantage; she is mistaken for a 25-year-old university graduate and subsequently lands her dream job when she's hired by a fashion design company, where she meets Choi Jin Wook, a man who looks more mature than his young age.

 61) Ouran High School Host Club (The Drama) (J): Yes, it's the drama adaptation of the Anime (and manga) with the same name yet leaves much to be desired. The drama just picks some episodes from the anime and transfers them to live acting. The cast could have been better (especially the leadig actor as well as Honey). I couldn't laugh but it was enjoyable though I'm a HUGE Ouran HSHC fan I can't help but compare the anime with the Drama. The acting after a while got better and the ending was a bit better at some points than the anime's but even that doesn't change my opinion about it. I remind you that if a drama has an anime adaptation prior (from a manga) I usually can't enjoy the drama as much (Hana Yori Dango was the only exception) in any case if you have watched the anime try the drama if not just skip and watch the anime...

Summary: The story revolves around a high school girl named Fujioka Haruhi (Kawaguchi) at the prestigious Ouran Academy, who stumbles upon a group of male students who have formed their own club as hosts. Accidentally breaking an antique vase, Haruhi ends up owing the club a vast amount of money, and she ends up posing as a host in order to repay her debt.

 62) Ikemen Desu Ne (J): The Japanese version of the popular Korean drama You're Beautiful. I never thought that a drama could be so similar yet unique in its own way although its just a remake. My opinion? Watch It! Don't compare it constantly to the Korean Drama and you will be in for a real treat!

Summary: A remake of the 2009 Korean drama “You’re Beautiful”. The story revolves around a fictional boy band named A.N.JELL. Takimoto Miori plays the nun-in-training who has to pose as her twin brother and take his place in the group, leading to a complicated relationship between the group’s members.

a) Hana Kimi 2011 (J): Worthy "remake" or better yet reboot of the 2006 version... but it remains to be seen...

63) Manny (K): I didn't have too much hope for this one but it reminded me a movie with Martin Sheen back in the 90's called "The Maid" (1991).  This drama was missing chemistry and when you have to wait until the 13th episode to get some action then you just waited too long. All in all is a cute drama with good characters and really good acting from the children. I'd say that as an idea was amazing... the rest just got twisted along the way.

Summary: Tall, with a perfect figure and his qualifications as an Ivy League graduate, Kim Yi Han is Seoul's top male nanny. He is employed by Seo Do Young as a live-in nanny to look after her two young children, Eun Bi and Jung Min.

64) Protect the Boss (K): When I first read the summary I though that it would be a good RC although to turned to be more of a comedy than a fierce romance. I have to tell you that the elevetor scenes and drunken moments might be only a few of the hilarious things that await you if you decide to watch this one. The leading actor was really cute while its amazing how its the only drama where you see a 30 year old man acting like a child then becoming a man and yet never losing his freshness. Bottom line on this one is that the maturing period aka 18 episodes was amazing while it was exactly how I like it a down to earth drama while it gives you the nobody is perfect but everybody can change. In short perfection isn'n achivied here but it has its tender moments and although it has a few awkward transitions like on the dating parts, comic relief will be provided effectivly shortly afterwards. My recommendation is watch it but although is quite good it could have been better... Dramas that drag their plot after the 16th episode due to popularity tend to miss the point but yet be enjoyable.

Summary: After struggling with frequent unemployment and a series of failed job interviews, No Eun Sol (Choi Kang Hee) finally lands a job in a law firm as a secretary. Unbeknownst to her, her new boss is a man who she accidentally involved in a fight, getting the president of her new company in trouble. Protecting this secret, she begins working diligently for Cha Ji Heon (Ji Sung), the youngest son of a family corporation, an incredibly immature young man with secrets of his own. Through their working relationship, he begins to fall for her.

65) Love keeps going (T): Well it sure does! Falling in love is easy at least that's what most think but what happens when it takes you a whie to realise that you were n the "pit" all this time? Shocking huh? Overall it was a good drama with enjoyable actors who really made this ride pretty much worth the plot's absurd turns. As it seems illness and accidents will always be part of a dramas scenario but this time it was unrealistic for e although the second "turn" it was a bit interesting and had some very touching moments. In this drama appeard and my favourite TW child actor but lets face it his role was so small you could hardly enjoy him. In any case the romance was ok and the transaction smooth. The comedy element was seriously lacking but it was above avarage. Finally the ending… I've read so many nagative comments about it and although many didn't get it I have to agree with something. In the end Yi Lei survives the surgery and we get 6 years post the final hospital scene where all the family  along with the now 5 year old son are going to a piano concert starring Yi Lei … my only aversion to that ending was that he was nowhere to be seen… I mean HELLO??? A cute final scene is a must for a RC drama and the chopped it mercecly!
Watch it but be prepared for the "old" well used recipe at many plot connectors

Summary: It all started when Zha Mei Le was just a little girl; she was care free and not really bright. 66) Hayate the Combat Butler (T): Another butler drama? Nope! It's an adaptation of a Japanese Manga and believe me that it's a really good one. I didn't know if I'd even like it but after reading so many comments about how others had the same feelings about it but were surprised at how good it was then yes I made my mind and guess what. They were right! A poor guy with a huge debt due to his parents gambling habits has now found his sun to the Yough Mistress! Loyalty is a given but what I really liked about it was how easily it flowed. For those who loved the leading actress ("Mio") in Korean You're Beautiful that's her next drama and although they dubbed her role she has a really good presence in this one. Something more than just enjoyable.

Summary: George Hu plays a man who is buried by his parents' gambling debts. With no way to pay back the money, he thought about going to the dark side by getting into the kidnap and ransom business. But instead of becoming a kidnapper, he ended up saving a girl from a real kidnapping. The girl turned out to be the sole heir of a conglomerate who faced these kinds of threats every day. In a case of kidnapping gone wrong vs. mistaken love confession, she hires him to be her butler and helps repay his parents' debts. Grateful to have gangster collectors off his back, he vows to protect her from harms, which is no easy task.

 67) Can You Hear My Heart (K): First I have to admit that I don't like   Kim Jae Won. Well, I didn't until I watched this drama. The reason lies on trivial things and NOT his acting. Let's move on to the "evaluation" of the drama now. As you all know I absolutely loved the drama Smile You and guess what, this one has the same screenwriter! For those who watched or just heard the awesomness of the drama Last Scandal, double your score! This drama has 30 episodes and although I believed that it would be awkward and "let me teach you how to sign and live" it was exactly the opposite. Just like Smile You, they picked the actors with great care and that shows by the great results. It's an easy drama without many twists but the suspence is there. What I loved most about the leading couple was once more the effortless act of "falling". Most of drama fans are not fond of lengthy dramas so they tend to just seek a short time thrill with 16 episodes or rarely 20 (like in Secret Garden). In this drama though I really wanted a few more episodes yet it had a really good ending, lets not forget that the screenwriter is attracted to the family ties even when blood relations isn't apparent or even exist. The natural grace of the leading actor to play a deaf in denial, the amazing actor Jung Bo Suk who played for 30(!) episodes a intellectually disable parent (talk about level of difficulty) or our beloved "granny" who had her own problems to deal with though she rarely if ever recognised anyone. It was a smart, oozing tenderness drama that I'll definitely re-watch because family is all about sharing a lot of rice(!) I mean honestly... Can't you hear my
heart?

PS The drama begins in the Past like the Drama King of Baking that makes it even better while the story unfolds.

Summary: The love story of Cha Dong Joo, a man who's been rendered deaf after an accident but pretends he can hear, and Bong Woo Ri, a woman who's intelligent but pretends she's dim-witted to protect the dignity of her mentally handicapped father.

1) {M} Secret (Tw): A 2007 movie that's filled with music and romance. When I first read the synopsis I knew I wanted to give it a try although I was hesitating as I thought it would be a bit heavy. True it wasn't a light silly romance movie but had a good storyline which held my interest at all times. The piano pieces were divine and as a huge piano fan I had my fill for the night. The plot seems fairly simple but what happens in the last 30 minutes will change your whole view yet it leaves you with a sense of contentment. My favourite scene? Near the ending where the music is at its peak and the building is been demolished

while he plays the piano and suddenly before the last note a drop of blood falls on the now yellowish from the time piano key and the fianal note is been played when the machines get through the wall and its then where he dissapears...

I choosed this one as my first asian movie because although, is not your typical drama like movie, surely will satisfy any drama lover who has watched everything so far (like me *sigh*) or doesn't have enough time to begin and finish a drama in order to get his/her fix.

PS It was nominated as the Best Asian Movie for the year  2008 in HK yet it won Outstanding Taiwanese Film of the YearBest Original Song for "不能說的祕密" (Secret) by Chou and Best Visual Effects.

Spoiler for the ending (aka lets clear the horizon): He indeed went back to find her. Most probably he got in 1979 before her asthma attack! As you noticed the desk wasn't always written so that means that some things could change. Also in his reality she could be either died or after he went back (and my wishful thinking) they dissapeared together after their (hers actually) graduation that's why the mother kept her room intact. They planned to have a sequel (Secret 2) with the same cast although I dont know if it will be the continuation of this movie sometime in 2013 (originally in 2011 but the leading actor got the part in Green Hornet so everything got on hold) if it is don't bother until you read one good review. I loved the ending and if its not as climatic and doesn't have a happy ending then I won't bother sorry...

Summary: Jay (Jay Chou) visits an university at which he wants to deepen his piano studies. It's his first day, being transferred from another university, and Sky (Alice Tzeng) shows him around on the campus, telling him everything he needs to know. Shortly thereafter, he meets Rain (Guey Lun-Mei) in the piano room, with whom he instantly falls in love. The two start an innocent relationship, but Jay has to understand that his new girlfriend is full of secrets. Why does she never attend class, and why can't he meet her parents? Jay is wondering about this, but he is happy as long as he can at least see her every now and then.
However, as time goes by Sky also falls in love with Jay, who wins her heart with his extraordinaty piano skills. When Rain happens to see Sky kissing Jay, she misinterprets the situation and disappears. Five months pass, which feel like an endless amount of time for Jay, who meanwhile is seeking help from his father (Anthony Wong) until the day arrives at which he sees Rain again, eventually. Now, he can finally disclose her secret...

68) Thirty Thousand Miles in Search of My Son (K): I was trying to find this drama for months and to try to find it subbed made the whole thing even more difficult. Anyway, I found it eventually and it was as interesting as I expected although it had a different progress than the one I thought it would have. The subs were something more than aweful but after waiting so long I just had to watch it! Normal storyline but it didn't have the romance I was hoping for... at least not as fierce compared  to my favourite RomCom dramas. I think that it will be watched by those who were waiting all these years or from whoever likes the summary...

Summary: Soon Young is a single mother who lost her son 5 years ago. She spends her time trying to find her lost son. Little does she know that Kang Kye Pil, the heir of a conglomerate, found her son 5 years ago and has been raising him ever since.

69) In Time with You (Tw): I really thout that it would be one of the most amazing Tw dramas after reading all the reviews across the web so i waited and waited... and one day I thought that it was about time! I had the 2/3 subbed so if I wanted to watch the ending I'd just have to go to VIKI. I was sooooo disappointed... I can't tell you how much I wanted to watch this oneand it was a complete fluke... like a new car that let you down at your first drive... Umph.

Summary: On her 30th birthday, Cheng You Qing received an email on "the symptoms of premature aging" from Li Da Ren, her best friend of 14 years. Unable to accept that Li Da Ren is like a fine wine that will get better with age and she is like a grape that will dry into a raisin as years go by, she made a bet with Li to see who will get married first before they turn 35. As she looked around for a potential husband, she discovered that she was surrounded by unacceptable candidates, like gay assistant or cheating ex-boyfriend. 70) Pit a Pat, My Love or Sweet Palpitations (K): I'm still watching this one and I think it will take me a few... ehm... weeks... So far it's really good and I really liked the feeling of  smooth sailing on the very first episode. I wish I had more time to put a few episodes in my mobile. Commuting takes time you know, especially in Athens these days!

Finished! Ok, so I couldn't wait. I skipped a few scenes and I

had to stay awake until 6am for three days in a row but it was

worth it! Every episode was amazing and it really remind me of

Secret Garden blended with The Greatest Love! Every ten

episodes the drama deals with a new problem or situation that

seems so realistic you just can't stop watching! For those who

are hesitating due to the transplant issue don't be as it is

resolved with just one word: Fate. In my opinion this drama

would have been really popular if it weren't for the 135

episodes and yet I only got bored after the 110th. Lets just say

that after watching Smile You, this whole grandfather illness

was a bit too familiar with me. PS I knew from the start that it

would have a high rating and through episodes 15-90 I was

sure that it would be an 8. That changed when I watched the

leading actor collapse after the protagonist  tried to break up

with him after she learned hehehe. The scene was simply one

of the best scenes of  that kind. ;)

Was I not dissapointed at all? Of course I was! As

I told you I loathed how they used grandfather in the end and

the 134th episode seemed a bit rushed to me. Furthermore, I

didn't really like the uncle's sub-plot.. Oh Well... It was an

amazing story with an amazing OST... I'm sooooo going to

watch it again some day!

Summary: Kim Min Joo is a spirited single mother and successful producer who suffered a lot of pain in the past when she was cast aside by her ex-boyfriend, Kang Ki Hoon, and had since sworn off love.

Jung Do Hyung is the playboy president of the broadcasting company at which Min Joo works. He had an arranged marriage with Jang Jin Hee in the past, but they divorced soon after his near-fatal car accident in the U.S. He receives a heart transplant, after which he experiences strange changes in his habits, personal quirks and even finds himself falling for Min Joo. Against her better judgment, Min Joo also begins to fall in love with Do Hyung, and is confused at the growing similarity between him and her ex-boyfriend, Ki Hoon.

Episodes: 135 (Yes, it's a ridiculously lengthy one!)

71) I do, I do (K): You know how I love dramas with babies but this one is different. If you check the rating in Bad Couple (K) you will see that is one of my favourites but this one it seems to have everything that was lacking. I'm not saying it's perfect but it was close. Real life situations collide with societies outlook in single parenting. The love triangle is really good too! Some times I was catching myself hoping something to happen with the OB. Nevertheless, the ending was a bit out of what you would expect but it was a grounded drama. Hard work doesn't always equals success and if it does, acceptance to move up and not straight forward might not be what you need from life. In any case, I loved the line: "He proposed again? Is it his hobby?" and the scene 'Please help me get rid of my date'. Hilarious.

P.S. I'm pro-life but I believe that a mother should have a choice. My body, my choice. You wonder though how far human stupidity might go, or how propaganda is being made through dramas like this one in S.Korea. I was disturbed to say the least.

Summary: Hwang Ji-ahn is in her late thirties and works as a director of a shoe company. She likes being single and has no plans to get married. Meanwhile, Tae-kang only has a high school diploma but wants a career as a shoe designer. After a one-night stand, Tae-kang gets Ji-ahn pregnant and their lives become entangled. Fighting against rigid social mores, the two of them try to navigate a messy and challenging world. But these two people persevere despite the obstacles before them, searching for true happiness despite living in a society where morally acceptable behavior is in constant flux.

72) Papa wa Idol/Papadoru/Papadol! (J): Japanese idol plays home. It was a bit good at first but then nothing. Seriously, it's like they think that by doing this drama they will surpass the Arashi? Sorry guys... After Hana Yori Dango, this spot is reserved for all the fan girls for a bout two more decades. Interesting topic though, but do you really want me to believe that an idol is a performing monkey for the eyes of the fans? What twisted thing Asia has made out of entertainers? Anyway, nice ending scene.

Summary: This drama takes a whole new approach by making stars act under their real name and collaborating with other TBS television shows. Nishikido Ryo acts as a popular idol and member of Kanjani8 (or as himself) who secretly marries a woman with three children. This comedic drama portrays the reality of show business and the importance of a family bond. Ryo has come to his girlfriend Haruka's house to ask her mother and children for her hand. Her eldest daughter refuses flat out saying that she doen't want an idol as her father. To make things worse, Kanjani8's manager finds out about the marriage and tells him to either get divorced within three months or end his career in show business.

73) Wild Romance (K):  Whoever wants fluffy romantic comedy here, that's not the one. I heard that the first episodes were really boring but instead I think that they were the comic relief before the storm. What I really liked about this drama was the mystery. The plot is quite thick but there are some parts that makes you wonder if this series is just a psychologist dissertation with a cherry on top. I loved how they played the envy and the twisted affections. This drama surely will make you think. So if I'm not the best does that mean that I have to quit or be a as crazy as they come? So to summarize, don't expect much love story but that makes it even more real as in this one goes from a crush to I really like you. I don't know if I'm going to love you until I die but right now I know that I'd die for you. Works for me...

Summary: Everything starts on the birthday of Eun Jae's dad. Eun Jae ran into Park Moo Yul, who is the 2nd baseman of 'Green Dreamers', when she is drunk. Eun Jae who is a fan of 'Blue Seagulls', starts a fight with Moo Yul who led the 'Green Dreamers' to victory. The next day, internet is on fire with the video called 'Humiliated Park Moo Yul'. Because of this video, career of both Moo Yul and Eun Jae, who recently got a job as a bodyguard, are in danger. In the end, they decided to put on a show against the public! They lie that Eun Jae is Moo Yul's private bodyguard and the video was recorded when Eun Jae was giving a self-defence demonstration to Moo Yul. Like this, Eun Jae becomes real bodyguard of Moo Yul. It seemed like everything worked out just fine, but the problem is that they can't stand each other's existence...

74) Rooftop Prince (K): A popular one. Well let me tell you for me it was a failed attempt to imitate the emotions from Secret Garden and not only that... Smooth story but don't be fooled not everyone finds the hand justice in this one. In the end it lives you hanging... So what exactly happened? No idea. Theories give and take. I want to believe that the present had the memories of the past and set a new journey after the ending. But someone has to be alone. Who will it be? I'm telling you that you will enjoy it but in the end be prepared to pick your conclusion as to whom ended where or if there were both together or, or , or... *Shrug* Me thinks the screenwriter ran out of ideas in the ending.

Summary: When Crown Prince Lee Gak is transported 300 years into the future to present day Seoul along with his three retainers, they believe that it is their duty to solve the murder case of the Crown Princess in order to return to Joseon. They land in the rooftop apartment of Park Ha, a cheerful woman in her mid-20s, who eventually believes the odd quartet's predicament and becomes their guardian.

Taking on the identity of Yong Tae Yong, Lee Gak slowly begins to unravel the murder of Yong Tae Yong and in turn moves closer to solving the murder case of the Crown Princess. As Park Ha educates the four on life in the 21st century, Lee Gak comes across Hong Se Na, who seems to be the reincarnation of his wife. As he finds himself in love with Park Ha, he figures that maybe the Crown Princess was not so perfect after all..

75) Arang and the Magistrate (K): That's a strange one. Games are to be played by children, the pieces supposed to be lifeless and the board clear as the rules. Nothing goes as its supposed to but who cares? Mystery, thriller and CSI Korean style back in I don't know in which era. Ghosts can fall in love and the price of giving up you fears is sometimes greater that what you think. What to expect from this one... You will laugh, you will perhaps cry and goosebumps are expected in every episode. And `I don't mean the fluffy ones... In the end some of you might be disappointed, I wont lie to you but I thought that the ending was perfect. Perfect, sweet and with the promise that everything will be ok. Don't miss this one.

Summary: The beautiful Arang, the daughter of a magistrate during the Chosun Dynasty, is brutally murdered. The woman returns from the dead as a ghost, still full of light-hearted mischief and spirited fun. When she meets a young magistrate, Eun Oh, she discovers that he has the unique ability to communicate with the dead. She convinces him to help her uncover her killer and bring the person to justice. Can a ghost and a magistrate team up to solve a murder mystery and punish the wrongdoer?

(Section B)

I’m still watching but I don’t have the time to write about them. Soon I’ll put about the ones I watched during the first half of 2014.

Colour groups, summaries, episodes etc will be put next time. Sorry! 76)You who came from the stars

As we all know it’s difficult to keep watching a mediocrity drama. Most start as hits and flunk after a few episodes or around the final ones. This is not the case with this drama. I enjoyed almost all the episodes and the cliff hangers were there at the end of each and every episode making t impossible for me to stop. The romance comes early and although it goes ups and downs I think that it was one of the few dramas that have contact between the leads early on and often enough to keep a girl happy. I’d say that it was very similar with the “Secret Garden”. Funny with elements of fantasy and mystery. Unfortunately something was lacking and you only could sense it in the last 10 minutes of the whole series. My recommendation is to watch it as it is probably in my top 10 if not in my top 5 of all times. For those who don’t know you must watch the 2 minute epilogue of the epilogue which was broadcasted with the last episode about two weeks after the last episode was first broadcasted. Beware the ending though. It’s happy but it will leave you lingering a bit. Nothing will ever top Secret Garden’s ending but I sense that the writers were a bit stuck wit the conclusion of this drama so they got a wild idea from a popular book that a few years back hit the cinemas as well. Of course with the extra epilogue you might think that everything resolves and even tough it seems a bit stolen from another movie this time, you have to persuade yourself that everything is going to be as they had planned it. Plenty of room for… everything.

77) Nail Shop Paris

I think that it tried to mimic a bit the craze with “My girlfriend is a Gumiho” but something went terribly wrong. I don’t know about the audience they were targeting but a nail shop for me is a frivolous waste of time. Nothing much to say really just be sure where you are getting into before you begin watching this one. Fantasy as an element it’s there but you will never know what is about until the ending. For me the whole thing was unconvincing and badly executed. It seemed like put “You’re beautiful” with the drama mentioned above and let’s fill this time slot. Meh.

5.4/10

78) Prime Minister and I

I though that after the “King of Hearts” I’d know where I was standing but obviously not. It was entertaining and had a solid story. Everything is what you would expect and somewhat more. have you seen “That Fool” well add some mystery in there and you will have a nice story. Never before an antagonist turns to be a good guy so give it a chance. Overall don’t expect and amazing drama but for the summer nights that you want to kid yourself that you can find a man in politics with integrity and morals and on top of that marry him (talk about impossible… well at least the first part!) then grab your snack of choice and start watching!

7.2/10

79) My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

After Arang and the Magistrate I was hooked with the leading actress so I watched this popular drama. I was not dissapointed! It was a really good story which I can watch again and again. The story so well thought and the ending extremely good as well. I could not be happier with this one! Just watch it if you are one of the few who didn’t.

7.3/10

80) Flower Boy Next Door

Not a bad drama but it could have been much better. My advise would be watch it but be wary!

6.8

NOPE) Flower Boy Ramen Shop ??

I couldn’t watch it… Period. So if you are going to attempt it that your problem not mine anymore.

81) Master’s Sun (2014)

I started this review at the 5th episode. The Hong sisters were really good this time. Each episode it’s like an autonomous episode as it is dealing with a different ghost and as such it doesn’t become boring to see their already played idea weak-arrogant romance like we watched at “The Greatest Love” The leading actress is the same and although the leading actor is not Cha still it gives you an eerie feeling of familiarity. I could swear that at some scenes I could hear Cha’s voice screaming fruits and then i remember that he is not there. I think that if Cha was the leading actor he would have had a tremendous fun and the viewers wouldn’t have to linger to hear that *Ahhh*. Anyway so far it is enjoyable but even though it was a moderate success (rating wise) I feel like the sisters should have managed to distinguish Cha’s acting and persona building from this one. As for the actor himself slowly he seems to have his own moments of brilliance but he still relies too much on Cha’s acting style at “The Greatest Love”

On a second note romance in this drama comes from the subplot. Which makes you wonder on whether it’s the main one some times. It’s about love and how you handle that love. It’s about a mother’s love or a child’s. A loved one’s that had to step back or managed to step forward even after it was physically gone from this world. That’s where the strength of this drama is found. In a sense it says you can love more fiercely and with honesty when someone is gone figuratively or literally.

8.7/10

 82) Faboulus Boys (2014)

Opposite to the adaptations between Japan and Korea when it comes to dramas, Taiwan has a talent to not just copy but exceed  all expectations. It is true that the Korean adaptation was simply amazing. After all Korea had the Hong Sisters! Praise the God who gave them such talent says I.
Whoever takes a chance with this will recognise Park (The leading actress from the Korean version of “You’re Beautiful”) It would be hard not to as it makes a directed comment towards the Korean drama.
Overall it was a good adaptation which deserves attention for what it is and how well it was adapted for the taiwanese tv. Of course sometimes it’s like you see a weird k-drama where almost everyone is talking in Chinese. My opinion? Watch it if you are a fan of the original but don’t expect to have any new scenes. P.S. The comic imagination of Jeremy is portrayed perfectly here.

6.8/10

83) Sly and Single Again (2014)

I read quite a few things about this drama. Some would say that it is boring and doesn’t move as fast and here I have to disagree. Perhaps it’s because I’m slowly pushing 30 but so far I’d say that most f the viewers just want a trashy or flashy rom com. That’s not bad but this drama is neither. It is a good solid drama of how you construct a relationship and how it may fall and rise again. The hardships and in order to borrow a title from a rather well-known book, “everything I never told you”. That’s the essence of this drama. So I enjoyed it so much and I really hoped I had the time to watch it properly.
Finally my advise would be to watch it if you want something heartwarming. Something that says we both made mistakes and they were not the misunderstandings. We were at fault and no matter how much we try to forgive each other thing swill never be ok but that’s what life is all about and so we will stick together. Great story, great actors, great concept overall!

7.6/10

84) Just You (2014)

This is a Tw-drama. It takes elements from full house and (!) and delivers well. The annoying part is this oversimplified innocence of the leading actress. It was a pleasant drama witch left much to be desired from other great dramas I have seen in the past. If you want something that will have this playfulness and you want to spent your time with no much fuss go for it but be prepared. It is good but not great! I personally loved the kidnaping part. Seriously if I ever get kidnapped I might try her perspective but it is bound to fail.

6.9/10

85) Nobunaga (2014)

An adaptation of a really popular Japanese drama which was recently adapted to an animation series. This drama was made to celebrate the years of the tv station so the went with this history slash manga drama.  In a sense is the story of a very well known Japanese figure of the 16th century but with a twist. I have to admit that I enjoyed the drama until the 9th episode. What went wrong? The manga is not complete. Therefore the production cannot give an ending that will resolve all your questions or satisfy your expectations. If you like period dramas give it a go but where it could have been awesome it will leave you lingering with an open ending.

7.1/10

86) Blade Man (2014)

This drama began really well. It certainly lacks the amazing GFI but the concept was really well put. Also the relationships between the family member and the rest of the characters were ported with honesty and realism. Whoever has seen the La traviata might spot some similarities but not many. Perhaps it’s a wishful thought. What slightly bothered me is that some things are never resolved. Certain ends therefore remain loose. At some points I think that the writer was a big fan of Lois&Clark:The New Adventures of Superman. It is true that this drama could have had a better and more coherent plot at times but don;t be fooled. This is not for your average teen or young adult drama crazed fan. This is about an audience that would like to go deeper within the human relations. Perhaps that is why they have introduced the subplot of the blades. The blades made to keep the threat and the pain away while numbing the consciousness, slowly become what might hurt and the ones that honestly try to approach to ease that pain. In the end the blades subside and the raw power is better understood. At least understood by the writers and the cast, the viewers will remain in wonder on how they managed to conclude the final episode. It was hasty and abrupt but not entirely (or necessarily) bad. Nonetheless it was an enjoyable drama that I believe it should have had better ranking during its first broadcast.

6.4/10

87) 18 vs 29 (2005)

It’s an oldie but also the reason of why we have so many awesome dramas nowadays. The actors are playing really well and the story progresses as it should. I was really pleased with this drama although sometimes it was taking for ever to move from one scene to the next. Nonetheless this is for when you question your past decisions. Also good ending and solid storyline.

7.4/10

88) Witch’s Romance (2014)

This is one of the best dramas I have seen this year.  It was funny and the cohesion of the characters reminded me a lot of the family comedy drama Smile You. Many may avoid this but take my word it was hilarious. The balance which the writer kept in the plot and the actors performed was amazing. The story is simple but the tension of the characters and the tender moments are really good. It really speaks of authenticity in human relations. It also make you wonder in a question the leading actor always asks. Is age really important?  I guess not and although the ending could have been perfect it was perfect in its own way. Perfect because I remember my theology teacher saying that a couple makes the marriage and it is the purpose of companionship. So never confuse marriage and children as the one does not always come in hand with the other. A great one to start a new year or phase in your life.

8.2/10

89) The Heirs (2013)

A popular choice nowadays. As popular as Boys over Flowers a few years back or Goong. Some say that is a worthy successor of BoF but lets not be hasty. Yes the drama begins with an interesting concept and I loved the setting of the first episodes. As it is progressing you can see how things are really messed up with that family. The chemistry of all the leads was extremely good and the soundtrack one of my favourites but something was missing. I believe that something was missing as I could not get in the story and enjoy it as I have with other dramas. It never game me the feeling of exhilaration but still it is regarded as one of the best of this period. So I’d say if you haven’t watched it yet you should if only for the experience but personally I’m starting to get bored with all the high school dramas lately.

7.8/10

90) Love myself or you (2014)

A Tw-drama which follows the steps of the K-drama Pasta. I feel like certain dramas are obsessed with what is going on behind the counter and certainly over France or Italy. Is it good? Yes of course it is. It is great and I spend some great moments watching it. But yes it’s a TW-drama and it always feels a bit weird when you change countries. I wouldn’t skip it though. The storyline is good and I believe that it was a good drama to spent my evenings with. The ending was also good and if I had to grade it I’d say that it would be a great opportunity to change your scenery and enjoy.

6.8/10

91) Cantabile Tomorrow (2014)

The Korean version of the beloved manga, anime, series and two movies from Japan. No matter how many times you watch this and in any available version it will always be special and thrilling. The music will never fail to bewitch you while the actors were extremely faithful to portray the depth of the characters. In Korea it received a low rating in viewers but that’s irrelevant as the international audience relished in delight with ever episode.

7.6/10

92) It’s Okay, It’s Love (2014)

This had it all! Oh it had such a good story and the characters were so funny. It was a really good mix between romance, mystery and drama. I don’t want to say much but I believe that this is a must watch. It comes third or fourth in my list for the 2014 dramas and had a really good enidng as well so that was definitely a plus! I’ll not say nothing more but if you search for a good drama if you have seen all other popular choices go for this one next, you will not be disappointed!

7.9/10

93) The Queen of the Office (2014)

A Korean remake of the Japanese version. It is a delightful comedy for a more mature audience and it has some sorrow underneath it which doesn’t affect the good feeling of this drama. The plot is easy to follow and the circumstances within the office are indeed worthy of your evenings. It is not much but it is a humorous take of the contract workers. Don’t miss it and the ending will be satisfying although a bit inconclusive of what I wanted to get.
