How I was hooked to A.D.

I respect that not everyone finds the culture or the language attractive enough to watch a movie or listen to a music that it's not widely known in the west but for me it's like that; My friends know that I'm slightly different from your average Greek. I'm spontaneous and I love comics and animated movies, I like to stir thing up but I don't do well with more that one person at the time... Sometimes two people are all I can take and even then I prefer to sit back and relax while watching them interact. I'm an observer most of the time and that's fine with me. I like opera and classic music or why not K-pop. My ideal date would in an exhibition and my favourite bday present would be an artbook  or a limited/collectors dvd.
I love astronomy but still, I can't tell you which star is which.  I'm an oyster* and I like that. What worries me is in whose world I'll end up. I really don't want to be broken anytime soon and I refuse to open for the time being...

Years ago, a friend of mine recommended me Escaflowne. Having already watched my fair share of asian animation back in the 90's as a child (ex. Ashita Free Kick or Subaru and yes, I was a tomboy) I thought t would be fun. Sure enough I had an enjoyable summer and after that I watched Itazura na Kiss, Special A, Ouran High School Host Club. I also read a few mangas but I was mostly passing my time after a long exam period at the University.

The years passed, my dvd collection reached the unfathomable number of 800+ (I have over 1200 but I had to choose has goes over down and next to my tv and dvd videos and what gets to boxes all over the house... not to mention that my dear mother has her own collection but she favours cd's so I'm pretty much covered for the rest of my life when it comes to entertainment...) I donlt really like clubs or alcohol. I'm not the person that will bother you for a coffee or a drink so I save money readily.  My friends don't really get that most of the times but I go out and I have a blast just because I'm with them (most of them are studying abroad so add this to the I rarely get out) also I don;t trust people easily... I'm picky I admit it but that makes me cherish the good time I spend with my friends a lot more. Furthermore, I like to write. I need peace and quite to do that and if you get to the mix the volunteer jobs twice a month, french classes and a research team that pretty much eats all my free time.

Where was I? Hmmm the years passed and imagine to have nothing to watch! Imagine to have bought all your favourite or known movies and now you have nothing new! The stress after the Junuary's (2011) exam period was unbearable and I had to finsh my research on the asian intelectual disability laws in order to put it in my dissertation. I fell right in the trap... For the next 13 month I woud watch over 70 dramas... They had a nice plot that reminded me a nice movie but with so many possibilities. They didn't drag like the american ones so they were over pretty quick it was like watching an extented movie of 16 hours in total! I loved the fact that my soft spot for rom com was satisfied while working on my final paper. I would research, read and write all week and then n weekends I could watch one or two dramas all day!

Due to my thesis I couldn't find the time to go on vacations this summer (imagine living in Greece and you can't go to your summer house! You can't get on a boat and leave for a week to a peaceful Greek island.... my mother of course met up with a few old friends from France and had a perfect summer vacation)

Sometimes friends ask me why I bother with ching chang chong (yes, they really do ask it like that). Well, most of my friends are half Greeks. Since I was a child I traveled through Europe and I decieded that as an adult I'd learn as much as possible for every country I could. And finally, it's ok, to watch Desperate Housewives (Hate the show, love Teri! Blame it on my Superman addiction) just beacause it's an American show but not an Asian series?

Currently I'm watching again the drama Smile You. With just three epiodes every night I'm good to go outside and face the world... well short off.

In any case I can't wait to watch Wild Romance and Colour of Woman. The only holdback is of course the loss of Megaupload and the fact that I'm stuck as a leecher at A.T. so... I guess I will have to watch it over at Viki's once they are both ended. For some reason I can't watch something that is not finished... I hate to have spend so much time reading or watching something and then having to wait a week or months for the next update/episode.

Let's move on! I found a great site from which you can buy almost every asian drama really cheap aaaand they have English Subtitles, they are licenced and Region Free! YAHOO! If things go according to plan and we don't banckrupt by this Monday (Damn you IFM!) I'll order my all time favourites in about a month. Secret Garden, Hana Yori Dango and Itazura na Kiss (the anime of course!). I will have to spend about 80 euros as the shipping cost is up to 30 euros. Oh well... It's not like I party every night or any other night... and I got my degree last week! So give me some sugar!

Unfortunatly I tried to find it again and the page isn't working. No idea why. I even bookmarked it!
Anyway I hope they just update the site or it's an internet glitch.

Url:   http://www.trosworld.com/tripleccollection/index.php

Secret Garden: 25 euros
HYD 1&2 (seperate cases): 23-24 euros
Itazura Na Kiss (All 24 episodes!): 7,99 euros

I'm in a bliss! I just hope to release Smile you as well and for the site to be back up and kicking soon.

PS: What trivial thing I loved most? The window above the front door.
